All MHA services utilize a person-centered philosophy that allows consumers to make informed decisions about their treatment and well-being. We do this through a process of shared decision-making. The optimal treatment decision considers evidence-based information about available options, the provider's knowledge and experience, and the consumer's strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
Benefits to consumers:
-
Improved consumer experience of care.
-
Improved consumer adherence to treatment recommendations
-
Trusting and lasting relationship between mental health care providers and consumers.
Prevention
Prevention Services provide early intervention and prevention programs for the youth of Sedgwick County at schools, preschools, camps, community centers, and treatment facilities free of charge. Participants in each program can be referred by parents, school staff, community center directors, or other appropriate contacts.
Family Stabilization
MHA recognizes that the whole family is key to the success of the individuals within the family. Family Stabilization services were created to strengthen families in our community. Targeted programs have been developed that focus on various needs found within the community.
