Stronger Families: Free Support and Skills
Youth and Family Services (YFS) is a no-cost Program designed to strengthen and stabilize families by providing hands-on training for relationship skills, workforce readiness, and life skills.
We work with at-risk families who have children ages 5-24 in prevention and early intervention services to reduce poverty, prevent youth from engaging in high-risk behaviors, and help families achieve and maintain stability.
Families which may include single parent households, pregnant women, custodial and non-custodial parents, two-parent households, and non-parental families in which the primary caregiver/guardian is someone other than the biological parent. Family’s needs could be housing, truancy, behavioral issues, substance use, abuse, employment, education, familial relations, or any other family need.
Referrals are received from DCF, community agencies or families can self-refer. If you are interested in referring a family to the program, please complete the form below and email it to [email protected]
Compeer-Wichita is a youth mentoring program that connects area youth in grades K-12,who are faced with social and emotional barriers with caring trained adults to create a meaningful, supportive relationship.
